Bluecol was originally manufactured in the 1930's by Smiths Industries & was developed as the first all year round antifreeze, quickly being established as the leading brand. For years, Bluecol antifreeze was the original fill recommended in many makes of vehicles as well as most of the major bus and truck companies. Over the past seventy years it has belonged to several companies but Bluecol is now firmly back in British hands with the Tetrosyl Group. Today there is a Bluecol range that includes antifreeze, screenwash and de-icer to suit both commercial and domestic users.

Bluecol has been part of the British heritage since 1937 and has a history of advertising both trade and retail. Many items are now in collector's protfolios and museums including metal signage, measuring jugs, packaging, model collectors' trains, buses and cars and newspaper & magazine advertisements. The Bluecol 'British Robin' with its woolly hat is believed to have been introduced by Lucas around the 1950's. The iconic logo has changed a few times over the years and indeed Tetosyl has created its own modern version.

An addition to the Bluecol range is Bluecol 'U', a universal top-up antifreeze/coolant suitable for use in all vehicles (both petrol and diesel) which will mix safely with all colours of antifreeze already in the radiator/expansion tank. When Bluecol 'U' is added to antifreeze already in the cooling system, the synthetic process and additive package enhances and revitalizes the qualities of the original antifreeze, providing exceptional all year round protection and performance in all driving conditions. Most recently a range of 'Aero-Flex' Bluecol wiper blades have been launched with their curved design increasing screen contact & reducing juddering & wiper squeak.
